The menopausal years

Natural cessation, or the slowing down of menstrual periods, typically occurs between ages 49 – 52, on average. Once a woman is without a menstrual period for 1 year she is considered officially menopausal. Without ovarian function she will have less testosterone and little estradiol, a natural estrogenic hormone. Her estrogen of origin shifts from the ovarian estradiol (E2) to that of the fat-produced estrogen (E1). Without ovulation, her progesterone production slows to only that of adrenal production. As a result, the altered hormonal decline can accelerate atherosclerotic vascular disease, and progressive cognitive and memory dysfunction is often common. Lean body mass reduces and fat content increases.

Other symptoms can include urinary incontinence, vaginal dryness, loss of libido, fracture prone osteoporosis and sometimes, cancer. These are some of the problems that can dominate the increasing hormonally exhausted woman’s body. Early restoration of multiple hormone deficiencies is the best chance of reducing the biochemically accelerated aging problems and diseases associated with hormone deficiency.

Increasingly, medical literature from around the globe supports the healthy restoration of a hormonally balanced body via, customized human identical treatment.
